Los Angeles indie rockers Mystic Braves make the sort of old-school psych-rock that would shut up all those who claim that they don’t make them like they used to. Similarly to bands like Allah-Las, Mystic Braves turn back the clock, embrace old-school songwriting qualities and give it a sun-soaked psych spin that they deliver with their own set of charm.
“What Went Wrong” is such a track, a dreamy psych odyssey that sounds like it could have been released 50 years ago, in the best damn way possible. It’s taken from their new album The Great Unknown, which was released in August via Lolipop Records
