La Dante is the project of singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Maxwell Perla. For the better part of the past decade, he’s served as a drummer for a variety of acts in both the Philadelphia and New York music scene. He’s now ready to operate on his own under the moniker of La Dente, preparing the release of his debut EP Womanamerica.

Today we share with you his debut single “Mexico Sunrise,” a track that is clearly influenced by great songwriters such as Neil Young, creating this picturesque sunset quality in your mind as his warm vocals roam free alongside its soothing melody. It may not be a totally new take on this genre but it leaves a strong first impression for an emerging voice, one that we think could do some great things in the future.

Stay tuned for more from La Dante but for now enjoy a stream of “Mexico Sunrise” below and find it available to purchase from Bandcamp.
