Yolanda is the project of Los Angeles-based musician Nicholas Abraham, who made many of the tracks that resulted in his new EP What a Vision during a stretch of 80-hour workweeks at LA County Hospital. These songs were primitive laptop recordings then but this woozy home-recordings soon became something more.
Take the simple but effective melancholy and songwriting on “No Great Shakes.” Mits the sound isn’t a reinvention of this sound but its one that he’s clearly put a lot of care into and captured with a lot of heart and soul which just pours out of the speakers in every which way.
