On July 14 Radiohead wrapped up their 4-night takeover of The World’s Most Famous Arena. It was impossible to match the highs of the epic night 3 (night 2 and night 1 weren’t too shabby either)
Arguably the craziest moment of the entire run came during song four when the band launched into “2 + 2 = 5” for the first time during this NYC stay and had a good portion of the general admission pit moving around and getting physical for the first time. This final bow also included the long overdue inclusion of “Street Spirit (Fade Out),” which closed out the regular portion of the setlist. They also finally gave fans “House Of Cards” but sadly they left out “My Iron Lung,” which stung even worse when setlists noted it was the alternate during the encore to “Bodysnatchers,” which we had previously heard throughout this run of shows.
Still, Radiohead found an incredible balance in making a setlist that pleased both one time customers and us nuts who went every night. This was a truly unforgettable run of shows and proof that Radiohead is a band in a league of their own.
