MIEN is the new band comprised of The Horrors’ Tom Furse, The Black Angels’ Alex Maas, Elephant Stone’s Rishi Dhir and The Earlies’ John-Mark Lapham.
They’ll release their self-titled debut album on April 16 via Rocket Recordings and based on its single “Black Habit,” this is a record to keep on the old radar. It’s a trippy take on old-school psych rock that effortlessly blends the various bands and influences that each member brings with them. Interestingly enough “Black Habit” was originally based on a Beastie Boys sample, which only makes the direction that they took it in that much more interesting.
