New Jersey native Nicole Atkins recently made the move to Nashville, and this change influenced her great new record Goodnight Rhonda Lee via Oh’Mercy! Records.

She brought her tour in support of the record back to us here in New York, for a much more intimate showing that the last time I caught her – at Bowery Ballroom in 2014 when she released Slow Phaser.

The show was very much sold out, one of the most packed crowds at Mercury Lounge that I can remember being a part of in some time. She opened things up with a cover of Can’s “Vitamin C” before working in tracks from the new record as well as a few older favorites and surprises, including bringing out The Replacements’ Tommy Stinson to premiere a duet called “Too Late” that they worked on together.

The show also featured a rocking opening performance from fellow New Jersey residents Jeremy and the Harlequins. You can find photos of both their set at Jeremy and the Harlequins posted below, along with Atkins setlist. The whole can also be streamed and downloaded in full thanks to our friends over at NYCTaper.
