Last month we had the privilege of premiering “Depersonalization,” the new single from Rockland County rapper Kamron Bahani.

The song was the lead single of his new EP DSM VI, a release that is self-described as:

melodically incorporates what Bahani perceives as mental disorders; through the use of each track’s tonality, he engenders an abstract melody, each of which encompasses what he believes is comparable to each mental disorder in the track listing.

These days too much of hip-hop doesn’t even sound like hip-hop, but more of r&b and pop with some rap thrown in. Bahani taps into that old school style of New York rap, with slick production, smooth and smart rhymes, with some insanely quick rhymes that you’ll need to listen to closely just to follow. The entire EP is smart and tightly constructed, a must for any fans of hip-hop that are looking for something real.

The entire EP is available to listen on his soundcloud, and is embedded for your enjoyment directly below.
