Last year Canadian singer-songwriter Andy Shauf released The Magician (via Anti Records) which ended up being one of my favorites albums of the year, as well as one that I still play in regular rotation. So I was totally ok with him extending his tour in support of the album until this year, which brought him back to us in New York for a sold out performance at Music Hall of Williamsburg on May 17.
The setlist was similar to his much smaller show at Rough Trade NYC last December, but with the order of the songs being quite different this time around. It was another sharp performance from Shauf and his band, which had expanded to include a few extra players, which helped flesh out the songs even more.
