Homeshake, the moniker of Montreal-based musician Peter Sagar (who once played guitar in Mac Demarco’s live band), released his new album Fresh Air on February 3 via Sinderlyn. We got our first taste of the new songs from the LP last November when he played the first of two sold out shows that night at Baby’s All Right. He returned to Brooklyn in February for another two show night at Baby’s All Right, as well as a pair of shows at Sunnyvale and Silent Barn.
We caught his performance at Sunnyvale on February 22, marking my first time at the venue. The show featured a very young and diverse audience, who packed in the venue, chilling and vibing hard to the seductive r&b influenced sounds of Sagar and his air-tight live band. The 15-song set was mainly focused on the songs of Fresh Air, but he also weaved in some older tracks that seduced and moved everyone in sight.
