Last fall during CMJ (rip?) I caught a band from Toronto by the name of Weaves that showed some promise during the showcase at Pianos that I caught them playing at. Here we are a year later and the group has released their well received debut self-titled debut album via Kanine Records.
They return to us in New York this week for a pair of shows. Tomorrow they’ll take over Mercury Lounge, and on Thursday they’ll head to Baby’s All Right. Tickets for both shows are still on sale.
It’s a good chance to catch the group while they’re still playing these small venues. We’ll be at the Mercury Lounge show ourselves, but you can’t go wrong either way. Both shows will also feature Cayetana.
