On January 13 METZ, Bully and Palm took over Bowery Ballroom during a cold winter night, warming us up with their different variations of rock and roll.
The uniqueness of New York experimental math-rock group Palm is never lost live, as they always seem to pull something different from their music with every set. Their 2015 debut Trading Basics is one of the most interesting albums you’ll be able to find now, give it a spin immediately if you haven’t heard it yet.
Nashville quartet Bully had quite the 2015 campaign, releasing their well-received debut album Feels Like and touring it seemingly non-stop across the globe. The songs hit just as hard, if not more, in the live setting. The venues will only get bigger from here on out, so see them soon, if you can.
METZ have come quite a way since my introduction to them at CMJ in 2012. Now with two albums under their belt (via Sub Pop) the group have honed in on their heavy garage rock, as well as their thrashing live show, which never disappoints.
