After catching her a couple weeks earlier at Boston Calling, I got another dose of pop wonder Marina and the Diamonds at Governors Ball. Marina took full control of the main stage, sharing cuts from her delightful new album Froot, which came out earlier this year via Atlantic Records and Neon Gold Records.
There’s a delightful nature to Marina’s blend of pop, that worked its magically with ease on the main stage crowd, winning over all who came to see her. If there was ever any doubt about the level of success that she’s found, it was squashed by the number of girls feverishly screaming along every word. She’s hit the big time, and you know what, pop music is that much better for it.
