Now I can always tell my kids that I once saw Fleetwood Mac at the Garden, and that it was great. To no surprise, I was easily one of the youngest fans in attendance. You had a crowd full of truly appreciate fans who truly loved Fleetwood Mac spanning more years of concert experience than I can even imagine. The show started at 8:20 and went well on until about 10:30, no openers, no bullshit. Just two solid hours of Fleetwood Mac.

This lineup of Fleetwood Mac featured Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood, with Christine McVie the missing link. They made do just fine without her.

Most of the set was dedicated to their classic album Rumours (“Dreams,” “Don’t Stop,” “Go Your Own Way”, “The Chain” and “Never Going Back Again.” Buckingham made knowledge that Tusk has stood the test of time and proved to be a better album that people gave it credit for, even their own label Warner Bros. They played a heap of tracks from that, and weaved that in with tracks from all over their catalog.

Buckingham also announced that they have been cutting new material, and that their is a new EP that will be out in a few days. They went on to play “Sad Angel” a pretty rocking track that will be on that EP. I was surprised by how much that I enjoyed the new one.

You couldn’t have asked for a better offering from a classic band who delivered a great set full of all the songs you could have asked for (although I could have used “Everywhere”) as well as deep cuts for the die hard fans. The band sounded great for their age, and it was great to see the chemistry re-brewing between Buckingham and Nicks, who seemed to be re-forming a passion of sorts. And I have finally heard “Landslide” live, that was pretty cool.
