I recently stumbled onto a Chicago band called Sharpless on bandcamp. The band is the project of Jack Greenleaf and friends. I haven’t been able to stop playing their most recent single, “Greater Than”, ever since discovering it.
It immediately struck a chord with me. It’s really quirky but dramatic, and epic, and pretty awesome. The best way to describe it is controlled chaos. There’s a tremendous sense of urgency that can’t be missed with the energy that the band is able to put into 4 1/2 minutes of full glory.
Definitely one of 2012’s sweetest songs to date.
